The fine
print.
Does BentFolio cost anything?
No. BentFolio is free to join, with no monthly fees. You keep 100% of your listed price on every sale; the buyer pays a small commission on top. Payouts go out monthly.
What kind of work belongs on BentFolio?
Photography and visual work made with intent: portrait, fashion, beauty, editorial, lifestyle, landscape, documentary, fine art. The reference point is a well-edited printed quarterly, not an endless feed. Every upload is reviewed by a person against our content guidelines; if a piece isn't a fit, it doesn't go live.
Can I have a Folio without selling?
Yes. You don't have to sell anything. Some creators use BentFolio purely as a portfolio host, and that's a perfectly valid use of the platform — the shop is there the day you want it.
Are model releases required?
No. Like Instagram, Behance, 500px, or any other photography platform, BentFolio does not require a model release for every person appearing in your work. The responsibility for having the right to publish your photographs sits with you, the creator. What we do offer — and most platforms don't — is full access to release-management infrastructure (ProntoRelease, ProntoTag) if you want to use it. Photographers preparing work for stock licensing, agency submissions, or their own organisational records can collect, store, and verify releases in the same place they publish. Optional, free, and there if you need it.
What about creator identity verification?
Different topic. Every BentFolio creator goes through ProntoID identity verification when they sign up — that's about who you are as a seller, not about who appears in your photographs. ProntoID protects payouts, prevents fraud, and ensures every account on the platform belongs to a real, verified person. It applies once, at account creation.
Can I unpublish work at any time?
Yes. You can unpublish any Box from your admin at any point, and it disappears from your Folio page within minutes. Your editorial control is total.
